1.  Bamboo is the fastest-growing plant on Earth.  In fact, the Chinese moso bamboo can grow almost three feet in a single day.

2.  Several landlocked countries have navies.  Of all those countries, Bolivia’s navy is reportedly the largest, with approximately 5,000 personnel and 60 ships.

3.  The town of Morton in central Illinois creates 80% of all the canned pumpkin we eat.  Libby’s is the most popular brand of canned pumpkin, and they do all of their harvesting and canning in Morton.

4.  Blind people have four times more nightmares than people with sight.

5.  The poorest 5% of people in the U.S. are still richer than 68% of the people in the world.
