You might remember last year’s leaked audio of Tom Cruise going off on the “Mission: Impossible 7” crew because someone didn’t follow COVID safety protocols.
Well, Jake Johnson from “New Girl” worked with Tom on “The Mummy”. And on a recent podcast with “Daily Beast”, he said that’s totally in character for Tom.
“He [Tom] is an intense guy. He is there to entertain an audience and he’s willing to really put himself in harm’s way to do it. And if you’re not all about that, you’re going to get knocked off the bronco.”
He even admitted to being hesitant about doing “The Mummy” because he was intimidated by the thought of doing action scenes with Tom.
Jake said, “When he’s holding onto a side of a plane and it takes off and that wind is hitting his face and it looks like it’s ripping his skin open, [it’s] because it’s ripping his skin open.”
Jake was so impressed with Tom’s intensity, he even built a gym in his garage inspired by Tom’s.
