Not all big budget sci-fi movies are created equal.  At least that’s how Denis Villeneuve sees it.  He’s the guy who directed the new, upcoming version of “Dune”.  And it seems that he sees his movie as a cut above the stuff Marvel is cranking out.

In a new interview he said, “Perhaps the problem is that we are in front of too many Marvel movies that are nothing more than a ‘cut and paste’ of others.  Perhaps these types of movies have turned us into zombies a bit.”

It’s not that Denis hates the MCU, or thinks it has nothing to offer.  In another recent interview he said, “All these films are made from the same mold.  Some filmmakers can add a little color to it, but they’re all cast in the same factory.  It doesn’t take anything away from the movies, but they are formatted.”
