Cue the outrage: Superman is coming out as BISEXUAL in the comics. The current Superman in DC Comics is NOT Clark Kent, by the way, it’s Jon Kent, the son of Clark and Lois Lane. And in the November 9th issue, he becomes romantically involved with a college friend named Jay Nakamura.
The writer of the comic says, “I’ve always said everyone needs heroes and everyone deserves to see themselves in their heroes, and I’m very grateful DC and Warner Brothers share this idea.
“Superman’s symbol has always stood for hope, for truth and for justice. Today, that symbol represents something more. Today, more people can see themselves in the most powerful superhero in comics.”
DC also recently had the current Robin, Tim Drake, come out as bi in the comic “Batman: Urban Legends”.
