Would you do this if the airlines here offered it? There’s an airline in Japan called Peach, and they’re now using vending machines to sell mystery plane tickets for much cheaper than they’d normally be.
Each machine is filled with a bunch of plastic capsules. Each one has a code inside for a plane ticket, and they only cost $45, but there’s no way to know where you’re going until you buy one.
They’re doing it at two different airports, and each machine has a list of a dozen different cities in Japan you’ll potentially fly to. So it’s only domestic flights. The question is, would you be willing to pay $45 for a ticket to, let’s say, Wichita right now?
