Drew Barrymore has backed out of hosting Sunday’s “MTV Movie and TV Awards”, in solidarity with striking Hollywood writers.
The show is still going on, but without a host. And Drew has agreed to host the show next year.
She says, “Until a solution is reached, I am choosing to wait but I’ll be watching from home and hope you will join me. I thank MTV, who has truly been some of the best partners I have ever worked with.”
Drew will still be part of the show, because she filmed some sketches before the strike.
(On a related note, some of the striking writers are dragging Jenna Ortega, because of comments she made a while back about having to tweak some of the writing on her show “Wednesday”.)
